O Holy Night! By Adolphe Adam
Lainie Diamond, Mezzo-Soprano
James Besser, Organ
~Feel the wintry January evening:)- this track was recorded in the beautiful 19th Century church, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. St. Thomas Aquinas, for many years, also was the home of the New York Carmelites.
St. Thomas Aquinas Church also had the blessing of hosting, on tour from France, the relics of St. Thérèse of Lisieux in 1999, and the relics of St. Mary Magdalene in 2009, for which Lainie sang as cantor-soloist for these special masses.:)
Singing sacred and devotional music is especially dear to her heart. In New York City, she greatly enjoyed singing as liturgical staff Cantor and soloist at St. Patrick’s Cathedral for many masses, and special masses including Holy Thursday-Mass of The Lord's Last Supper, Christmas, Thanksgiving, large weddings and funerals, and as special guest soloist.
Lainie has sung as Cantor and soloist for many live television masses broadcast from St. James Cathedral-Basilica on The Prayer Channel, NYC. Lainie directed and organized the music, liturgy and art direction for Taizé Prayer Services at The University of St. Thomas, St. Basil Chapel, Houston.
